Today we’ll discuss Auctiva’s listing, marketing and data analysis tools that help sellers list items on eBay quickly and easily, increase listing exposure, optimize listings and maximize profits.
Jeff Schlicht, Auctiva's founder and CEO, developed the first version of his company's software more than 10 years ago to help speed the listing process. Over the years, the software has been continually improved and expanded to include more tools to save sellers more time and money, resulting in a boost to their bottom line.
I am new to eBay. I use Auctiva. I’d like to know how to list an item for pick-up only AND, how to list offering calculated shipping (USPS Priority and, maybe, Flat Rate) as well as pick-up at my home. – Thank You!! Docmtc50
Auctiva’s lister: Auctiva features a one-page lister (http://www.auctiva.com/default.aspx#5), which is easy to understand and quick to complete. You merely insert the appropriate information in the boxes provided, and if you need additional help, you can just click on the blue question marks for clarification.
Once you create a listing, you can post it immediately, save it and come back to it later, or schedule it to post on a day and time of your choosing. The scheduling feature is free and can prove helpful when preparing listings for the busy season, or scheduling them to end at a time that encourages last-minute bidding wars.
Profiles: Auctiva's listing profiles allow you to enter commonly used information, like shipping details, payment instructions and return policies, once and save that information so you can easily pull it up the next time you list. Our profiles save you the time of entering these details by hand for each listing, instead allowing you to insert them with just a click. Auctiva’s auto-relist profiles even allow you to specify if you'd like items that go unsold to be automatically relisted. Another convenience is Auctiva’s bulk edit and its bulk find and replace buttons, which allow you to make adjustments to your listings in a matter of minutes.
Hi, I recently started relisting with auctiva and I want to know why everytime I relist an item from auction to store that I have to redue the store catagories. It takes way to much time the store catagories where already choosen and it is easier to relist with turbo listed if I will have to always change the store information.
Several of Auctiva’s tools, many of which are included with Auctiva’s free plan, help bring more traffic to your items. Our Scrolling Gallery (http://www.auctiva.com/?how=ebwksp#2)gives potential buyers a window into your free Auctiva Store, which automatically displays all of your items currently listed on eBay, so visitors can browse these and purchase multiple goods. You can also do this on a blog that comes with every Auctiva Store (http://www.auctiva.com/?how=ebwksp#3). Every time you create a new blog entry, Auctiva submits it to Google Directory to drive new natural search traffic to your items.
Image Is Everything Customers also get access to Auctiva’s library of more than 1,700 professionally designed listing templates, which dress up your listings and get your items noticed. Templates come in a variety of categories, colors, styles and themes, so you should have no problem finding the right one to suit your needs. And unlike templates offered by others, you can select layout options, choosing where images appear in the listing. Templates add a professional touch and credibility to your listings, which fosters trust, and results in more bids and higher final values.
If you want to use the auctiva store in conjunction with your individual listings is it my understanding that once the listings are over then the items are also automatically removed from your store or can they stay in it till you change it.
Save Money Let’s not forget about Auctiva’s Image Hosting (http://www.auctiva.com/?how=ebwksp#4), which both makes for better looking listings and saves sellers money. You can watermark and disable "right click" theft of your images. You can also supersize photos for free. Auctiva’s templates also let users integrate 24 images into template, and they can put in even more images using our description editor.
Knowledge Is Power Auctiva's Sales Reports and free Sellathon Counters provide valuable insight into which listings are performing best and which need some fine tuning. By providing you the number of watches, bids and visitors your listings attract, these tools make it easy for you to optimize your listings to increase traffic, bids and the final values.
Expert Advice Auctiva’s Education section also provides news and feature articles from prominent e-commerce experts to keep you up to date with market trends and best practices, as well as tips for getting the most from your online selling efforts. Get ideas for marketing your items, making your operation more efficient and expanding your business.

Hi, I am new to eBay Selling. I signed up for Auctiva in March and hitting a few roadblocks. I want to use multiple templates for similar items yet am confused in creating the 4 main components to the Master Profile. I would like to see a preview of the listing before it loads. Where do I go to review in Auctiva to see how the template and actual listing will look on eBay? Another problem I am encountering is, when I want to insert my own description with a script FONT, the Auctiva editor gives me fits and Will Not accept the title in script Font. Could that have been de-bugged by now? Any Help would be greatly appreciated!
In our listing page, under the Shipping tools section, simply click the Calculated Shipping radio buttons under the Domestic and International headings. Then you'll be prompted to enter package details including size and weight.
For local pick-up, you can select the "Arrange for Local Pick-up (will not ship)" radio button.
You can upload entire folders of images, so long as they don't exceed 100 or so (depending on size) images per folder. We hope that helps. Thanks for your question.
Your free Auctiva Store (http://www.auctiva.com/?how=ebwksp#3) is a showcase of your items currently available on eBay. When these items close, they are automatically removed from your Auctiva Store.
Thank you for coming up with an awesome service like Auctiva. I am very happy. I look forward to new updates and features. I will be exploring "create a new template" next.
Hi, Is auctiva working on a quicker way to delete the actual image folders ~ from the list so we can just check them or something it takes hours to delete all the empty ones or even folders that have images in them because you can only do them one at a time?
Suggestion? Question? If I activate caption on pictures as I list multiple items in a single listing at times, how much data (characters) will "caption hold"? Is this the only way I can list short descriptions under each photo? Like I have the same Item different color and or size? Noticed it popped up in eBay but haven't had a chance to explore in Auctiva.
Previewing your listing is easy. At the bottom of the lister page, just click the "Preview" button. For similar items with different templates, you can create similar listings and then just change the template in the newer one.
As for Profiles, these can really save you a lot of time. Just visit http://www.auctiva.com/help/tutorials.aspx and view one of the tutorials we have available on profiles. There's an Intro tutorial and another for each of the components to the Master Profile. Once you've done this once or twice, you'll be a pro, and will never want to list without these invaluable tools.
Your issue with the script font could be caused by a number of things. we encourage you and all users to contact our well-trained Customer Support staff for help. You can open a support case at http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx. You'll be impressed by how quickly they get back to you.
I have been having trouble with Item Specifics. When and if they do show, they are erroring out and not posting into ebay auction. I then have to login to ebay and edit the listing. Is this going to be corrected soon?
Thanks for the kind words lookin4dbest. We think you'll enjoy the "Auctiva Custom Templates" feature. There's a helpful video tutorial available at http://video.auctiva.com.s3.amazonaws.com/EmailTemplates/Video1.html. These are a great way to incorporate some branding within your listings.
Templates are a great way to increase the professional look of your listings and attract more bids by fostering an image of credibility. We're working on developing more templates of our own, which will soon be added to our growing library of 1,700+.
Good afternoon, Have one question for you guys about when we post a listing to eBay. Most of the time, we need to manually go back into eBay and edit that listing--the categories are outdated in Auctiva. I.E. we may have changed the category name or added new categories that do not show up in Auctiva. Any way around this, or are we doing something wrong?
Thanks! We've been loyal Auctiva users for quite some time and we thank you for your continuing support.
Hello, I recently had listings removed by ebay because I did not update them to agree with their accepted payments policy. The removed listings should have appeared in my unsold category and according to ebay they will in a day or so but nothing yet. These were originally created in ebay and updated to Auctiva when I signed up. I wondering if they never appear in my unsold folder on ebay will they be accessable in Auctiva for me to update and relist? Thanks
Thank you for your time and consideration! Just reading the posts from other folks is giving me all sorts of ideas! To re-word my question, I'd like to know if I can offer BOTH calculated shipping AND arrange for local pick up? I'm sure that for SOME buyers that live close by, they'd welcome the opportunity to pick up, rather than pay postage. As best as I know, if I select either calculated shipping OR pick up, and click the second button, the first is canceled out. If what i'm asking for is not possible, I'd like to suggest that it be considered for a program update. Thank you again. This is fun!!! - Docmtc50
As luck would have it, we just released this very feature yesterday. When you delete a folder, you now have the option to simultaneously delete all of the images contained within. As you've noted, this will save you lots of time.
be sure to take a look at the other Image Management features we also released, including a new "auto-delete" and feature as well as a quick way to remove all images from a saved listing.
Hi just got here...sorry for being late...great workshop...I am on a trail period and have some questions...How do you get new folders in your photos...when I go to upload there are only 1 folder and a no folder to choose from....also I do not see a spell check on the description part...even see one here...am I not looking in the right place because I really need to use one in my descriptions
my question is if it did not sell but the listing is over then you will have to add it back into your store? So that could mean if you have 30 items and they are ending at the same time you will have to relist them in your store? Is there an easy way to do this?
If you want to use the auctiva store in conjunction with your individual listings is it my understanding that once the listings are over then the items are also automatically removed from your store or can they stay in it till you change it.
gauge704,
Thank you for your question.

Hi Again, I am also not sure from what I am reading here...If you have an eBay store do you have to cancell that to open an Auctiva store or can the two exist side by side or is it better to cxl ebay store and open auctiva store?
