I need to know everything as it's all new to me...Thanks...

Now, that was quite a bit of information in one post, so, we'll give you some time to digest it. After you've gone through, please feel free to ask questions!

Is there anything special that I have to do to my chart of accounts to make sure this interacts properly with QB?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:12 PDT 8 of 45
Is this part of my store subscription or are there additional fees?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:13 PDT 9 of 45
Can we use the company name in QB as the item it synchs to, or will we need to begin entering auction numbers into QB?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:14 PDT 10 of 45
kimbesascloset - Today's presentation is an introduction to the all new eBay Accounting Assistant. Our workshop in August will give you the details of how to access Accounting Assistant.

I was pleased to see that PayPal Shipping Charges will now be included. The current program does not and I end up having to add it manually to my QB. Thank you.

I am currently using AA without SageFire--will Sagefire be required with the NEW AA?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:20 PDT 13 of 45
kimbesascloset: there are no additional fees (besides the purchase of QuickBooks or other accounting software) to use Accounting Assistant.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:21 PDT 14 of 45
kimbesascloset - There is nothing special you have to do with your present QuickBooks Chart of Accounts, but we recommend that you set up sub-level accounts to properly track you eBay Sales under your general income account. This will help give you valuable information about your eBay sales.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:23 PDT 15 of 45
bestlittlesheethouseintx: SageFire is developing the new AA. The new AA will initially work with all currently supported QuickBooks versions and expand to other accounting packages after launch, including our own KeepMore.net

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:24 PDT 16 of 45
ann156w - Thank you for the compliment. We are excited to add this feature to Accounting Assistant. As we stated in our intro, we feel that this new version will help you save hours of time with manual input of many of your eBay transactions.

audiovideocompany: Can you clarify? Are you asking about inventory?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:28 PDT 18 of 45
We currently use the customers last name as ID in quickbooks. Will we need to incorporate the ebay item number to have it all link together - does Ebay and Paypal data link with to customer name, or item number?

Questions anyone? We still have 30 minutes - lots of time for Q&A...

What will be the primary "key field" for the sync? Will it be eBay's listing number, or an inventory number? I sell antiques and collectibles, where the QB inventory component doesn't really go...

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:37 PDT 21 of 45
audiovideocompany: AA creates an instance in the customer list for each customer using last name, first name - userid and each customer is linked to the item number and eBay transaction. Because of the limitations of the Paypal API, we're unable to link the Paypal shipping back to the eBay item number (at this time). Does that answer your question? :)

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:38 PDT 22 of 45
Yes, thank you.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:39 PDT 23 of 45
audiovideocompany: You're welcome!

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:41 PDT 24 of 45
If I understand...when the same customer buys multiple listings, the system will keep this linked, so that the combined shipping amount will appear....

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:41 PDT 25 of 45
kimbesascloset - Inventory is an optional feature. If you do not use inventory then your eBay sales will be link directly to your sales account. The primary sync is the customer name.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:41 PDT 26 of 45
...Also, when I refund excess shipping because a customer paid for two listings as separate transactions, but I refunded "manually" within PayPal, because the items were sent in a single shipment, AA will be able to reflect this back through...

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:41 PDT 27 of 45
I don't currently use PayPal shipping. Will there be any other improvements in AA? and will AA continue to function as it does now? Earlier I confused SageFire with KeepMore.Net -- Will Keepmore.net be the only gateway to AA?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:49 PDT 28 of 45
bestlittlesheethouseintx: there will be improvements to AA. We have redesigned AA from the ground up to be 100% web based (instead of client based as it is now). AA will still be your interface between QuickBooks and eBay, but will be accessed through your browser and eBay account, instead of through a client on your desktop.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:50 PDT 29 of 45
kimbesascloset - Currently the new Accounting Assistant will handle eBay transactions and PayPal shipping transactins. It does not currently handle refunds or credits, but we will add these feature to the product road map for future releases.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:51 PDT 30 of 45
Super---thank you.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:52 PDT 31 of 45
Will it not handle Paypal transactions other than shipping? What about Paypal fees?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:54 PDT 32 of 45
Okay...so it will post the original transaction...but if there's further activity under that transaction, those will still need to be added manually...

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:54 PDT 33 of 45
audiovideocompany: Yes, AA will handle Paypal fees associated with bought and sold eBay items, as well as Paypal shipping but will not currently pull in Paypal transactions not associated to an eBay sale.

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 12:56 PDT 34 of 45
Well I can't wait to try it. Thanks!

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 13:01 PDT 35 of 45
Will PayPal transactions not associated with eBay included in future updates?

) View Listings | Report Jul-16-08 13:01 PDT 36 of 45
kimbesascloset - All activity within a transaction will be imported through AA. It will import the total dollars for the sale of the item, the amount of shipping fees paid by the buyer, any insurance fees paid by the buyers, any sales tax collected and deduct the PayPal fees. You will need to clarify if you are asking about any other additional activity under that transaction.

Will PayPal transactions not associated with eBay be included in future updates?

Can Trubo Lister and QuickBook be linked together?
